Patricia Underwood’s studio is nestled at the base of Castle Mountain overlooking 22 acres of meadows, woods, ponds and great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, all ideal for sketching, painting and photography. It is just 1 1/2 hours from Washington, DC and 50 minutes from Dulles International Airport.
The studio features a 27“ wide etching press with which she offers workshops in monoprint, collograph, etching and woodcut.
Castle Spring Studio is also proud to offer workshops and lectures by visiting artists.

Patricia Underwood
Comes to Rappahannock with over thirty years of experience in the arts. She holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and a Masters Degree in Printmaking. Patricia ran a successful quilt design business for over ten years. She has teaching experience at several colleges and prep schools, most recently at the Maryland Institute, College of Art and the Landon School. She exhibits her own work nationally and internationally. She brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her students.
